RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR HOSTELLERS 

 
ATTENTION OF ALL THE BOARDERS IS DRAWN TO THE FOLLOWING RULES AND REGULATIONS AND COMPLIANCE THEREOF IS SOLICITED FROM THEM. ANY VIOLATION WILL BE REPORTED TO THE CONCERNED PARENTS 1 GUARDIAN. RECURRENCE OF VIOLATION OF HOSTEL PROTOCOLS SHALL RESULT IN CANCELLATION OF SEAT.

RENT

Semester wise seat rent shall be paid as soon as the new semester commences. Once admitted adjustment of seat rent for the period of absence will not be considered.

TIMINGS

• Breakfast  :Between 9 a.m. to 9-30 a.m.

• Lunch  :Between 1-15 p.m. to 2 p.m.

• Dinner  :Between 9-30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

• All hostellers should report back to hostel in the evening within 7 p.m. without fail.

• All the hostellers must report to the hostel warden after college hours. If anyone has some work that requires going outside the campus, gate pass must be obtained from the warden. In general hostellers are not allowed to stay outside the hostel beyond 7 p.m.

• Hostellers can go home or to local contacts on Saturdays after the class / lab hours taking gate pass from the warden. However they must report back in time for attending classes on Tuesday.

• Hostellers leaving the hostel are expected to be accompanied by their parents / guardians. In case parents desire that the hostellers can go home alone, a proper authorization letter from them must be submitted in advance with the warden. Guardians are requested to submit a N. P. C. for their wards if they want to go outside to visit nearby places very often.

• Hostellers living in far off places should have a local guardian for establishing contact as and when required. Photo identity of local guardian must be submitted beforehand to the hostel for the sake of proper identification.

• Parents must declare before hand case history of chronic ailments, if any, of their ward. Nature of the ailment and the emergency medication required in. such cases should be intimated to the college authority at the time of admission by way of proper medical certificate / report. Parents / Guardians must ensure availability of proper medication for their wards at all times and
keep vigil on his / her health through personal contact from time to time. Any change in the of the ward at the time of his / her joining the hostel after semester break / holidays, should be brought to the notice of the concerned authority.

• Hostellers must keep the keys of their respective cupboard in safe place. In case it is lost, it must be brought to the notice of the proper authority so that arrangements can be made for a duplicate key. The cost of each duplicate key will have to be borne by the defaulter per actual.

• Hostel charges and mess charges must be paid on time to avoid fine or other penalty.

• Outsiders are not permitted to interact with the hostellers. Members of family and relatives of hostellers will be allowed to meet the concerned hostellers only after the visitor confirms his / her identity to the satisfaction of the respective authority.
• Before leaving for home I for more than half and hour, hostellers must put their name in a register maintained specially for their purpose. They must sign the register and record their contact address and phone number where they can be located during their absence from the hostel.

• Hostellers must take proper care of the hostel aminities and the facilities provided to them. Misuse of water or electricity must be avoided. Authorized staff of the institute must be given access to the rooms for general cleaning and for routine inspection.

• Visiting hours at hostel are as follows :

On Saturdays 5-15 p.m. to 7 p.m.

On Tuesdays 5-15 p.m. to 7 p.m.

On Sundays 10-30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and  5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

On Mondays 10-30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• During summer or puja vacation, the hostellers must vacate their seats and hand over the locker keys issued, to the office. During long holidays hostellers are supposed to vacate the hostel for cleaning and general maintenance. Hostellers must be a student of the institution and will cease to be a hostellers if his I her studentship in the institution ceases.

• Hostellers are to maintain sanctity of the hostel and ensure that untoward activity or events are not allowed to happen. Hostellers mustnot:-

1) Organize video show without the permission of the competent authority.

2) Use any addictive or harmful material such as pan-masala, pan, alcoholic drink, tobacco or any other intoxicating material.

3) Use abusive language and behave in such a way that hurts the feeling of a fellow hostellers. In such a case strict disciplinary action against the offenderls will be taken and might result in termination of the privilege to occupy the seat.

4) Indulge in ragging as it is specifically banned by the Supreme Court order. Anyone found guilty will be summarily . rusticated from the institute.

5) Play loud music or any music after 10 p.m.

6) Use iron, heater and other electric appliances.

Further to note :-

• The hostellers will lose his / her right to stay in the hostel if he / she is found to be involved in any activity, which by its nature can be deemed to be antisocial or pervert, or against the implied cannons of academic conduct expected from him / her, OR
If found to have violated any of the rules or regulations prescribed hereinabove.

• The seat rent includes the charges for seat rent, electrical charges and common facilities available to all the hostellers during their stay in the hostel. Extra charges will have to be paid for computer points.

• The college authority may be forced to close the hostel under extra ordinary circumstances. In such case the hostellers must vacate the hostel immediately.

• Hostellers will not be allowed to meet any unknown person / visitor.

• Guardians are requested to submit a fitness certificate for their ward before joining the hostel after a prolong / chronic illness / disease.

• Students should inform the proper authority about repair / maintenance work or any break-down of any time. They should not interact with any other employee / person / security for such purposes.

• Students may register their genuine grievances / suggestions for
any improvement in the record book, kept in the student cell for
the purpose.
